Generally the Ximending area is a good location to book your hotel given it's proximity to a train station (Ximen Station) and lots of nearby food and shopping estbalishments. Ximending is also one train ride away from the Taipei Main Station.
What I like about this hotel:
โ near Ximending
โ unli snacks/drinks
โ cool interiors
Very cool-looking hotel! Maganda yung facilities and the staff are nice. The room is also spacious including the CR. Unlimited snacks and drinks din sa common areas!
What I like about this hotel:
โ near Ximending
โ unli snacks/drinks
โ with bidet & bath tub
Sarap ng tulog ko dito! It looks like a business hotel -- very clean room and CR din! Nice touch na may bathtub so good to relax there after a long day.
โผ๏ธ Important: To save time, ride the Purple Express Train, not the Blue Commuter train. The purple train gets to the Main Station faster since it has less stops.
๐ You can book your Taoyuan Airport MRT tickets here, or you can also use your EasyCard to pay for your fare.
From the Taipei Main Station, you can ride the blue line going to Ximen station where Ximending is.
Most places are accessible via public transportation like trains and buses. To pay for your fare, you can purchase single ride tickets but I highly recommend using the Taiwan EasyCard.
It's basically a reloadable card that you can top up to pay for transportation fares and even for goods and services in select establishments like food kiosks and convenience stores.
This is a must-try especially if it's your first time in Taiwan! Here you will visit the following iconic places in Taiwan North Coast:
๐ Yehliu Geopark for the rock formations
๐ Jiufen Old Street for foodtrip & shopping
๐ Shifen Old Street to fly sky lanterns
๐ Shifen Waterfall and more*
*depends on which package you will bookVisiting the North Coast can be done via DIY but I personally recommend joining a day tour instead since it's less stressful to have a tour bus to move you from one place to another.
The tour already includes the tour bus with an English-speaking tour guide, plus very convenient pickup/dropoff locations in Ximending or Taipei Main Station.
Those who want a chill day especially those planning to visit Taipei with kids need to consider going to Maokong via the Maokong Gondola, and the Taipei Zoo.
These two destinations are typically visited in just 1 day since they are close to each other.
๐ You can even book bundled tickets for Maokong Gondola and Taipei Zoo here.
๐ Visit Maokong via the Maokong Gondola and for scenic views and some food trip (โผ๏ธ try the Oolong Tea Ice Cream in Maokong)
๐ Visit the Taipei Zoo for a chill stroll, sightseeing, and a visit to the Giant Panda House
Try their ham and egg sandwich for breakfast, paired with warm or cold soy milk!
The shop owner does not speak English but there's an English menu board for ordering!
Recepient of the Michelin Bib Gourmand award for their yummy but budget-friendly meals!
Try their braised pork rice bowl and visit before the shop opens before the big crowds arrive
Also a recipient of the Michelin Bib Gourmand award -- known for their home made noodles!
Their beef noodle soup and vegetable dumplings are a must-try especially if you're near Ximending.
Not a huge fan of brownsugar milk but this one's an exemption! The warm, sweet boba matches perfectly with the cold milk!
Their brownsugar milk is best paired with Xiao Long Bao (which they offer as a limited set in the menu).
